Literature Text

You stood in the center of the room, gracefully twirling as the edges of your skirt lifted itself gently, creating a mirage of circles around your waist. Levi watched you in absolute awe from where he stood. He came closer to you, steadily and slowly, careful not to scare you. You eyes opened to meet his, as if you already knew he was there. A mischievous grin stretched from ear to ear.

“______...” His whispers melted with the air around him, but before they could entirely dissipate, you ears took in his soft velvety voice.

You said nothing but just smiled at him before running past him, giggling at his shocked expression. You stopped and stared at him again,

“Wait!” He started following you, breaking out into a small run when he saw that you picked up the pace.

He found himself in front of the living room with you perched on the couch cross-legged. You made no movement to acknowledge when he started to sit next to you. He studied your expression; you eyes remained fixated on the television in front of you. You eyes grew dull and unresponsive. Levi frowned and sat next to you, watching you.

You both remained that way for approximately an hour before you stood up from your spot, making you way to the terrace of the apartment. Levi followed you closely, making sure to keep a certain amount of distance. You leaned over the balcony, and Levi’s heart lurched to his throat, reaching out for you instantly.

“Careful!” He shouted after you. In response, you simply tilted your head back and smiled at him, showing him you were okay.

He sighed in relief, but furrowed his in disapproval, to which you simply stuck your tongue out at him, as you let the wind tussle your hair in all different sorts of directions. You close your eyes and tilt you head up towards the warm breeze.

“It’s time to come in.” Levi called out after you gently, and you nodded, walking towards him and passing right through him. Making your way to the bedroom, when you peered into the open doorway, you eyes immediately widened.

Levi’s heart immediately constricted. It happened every time he hallucinated about you. You would follow the same path; he would find you in the living room, where you would move towards the terrace and then finally the bedroom. But every time you stopped in front of the bedroom, your face would always contort in hurt.

And it was his entire fault.

He stared at your figure, pressed against the wall and sobbing into your hands, however you made no noise. You looked like you were trying to suppress your cries.

He never forgot that day he hurt you, so much that it drove you to separate from him forever.

You came home as cheerful as ever, you just got promoted to manager at your job. You immediately found your way to the terrace, taking in the soft breeze and letting it gently caress your face. You took in the small moment of solace you had.

You couldn't wait to tell Levi when he got home or better yet you should call him right now.

But when you turned around, you spotted Levi’s shirt on strewn on the couch and beside his, another one, except slightly smaller. You eyes furrowed, was he already home? How come he didn't call you? And come you missed that before? You grabbed it and brought it to your nose. You pulled your face away from the perfume stench that drowned the shirt.

You made your way to the bedroom slowly, your heart pounding in your chest hoping what you feared wasn't true. But listening to the noises that emitted from the room made your heart sink to the bottom pit of your stomach, confirming your worst fears. You peered into the small gap left by the slight ajar door and surely enough, it was Levi with another women. You boyfriend, your lover, was cheating on you.

In your bed.

You slumped against the wall and pressed a hand to suppress your eyes; you stumbled towards the couch and collapsed there. Silently sobbing as the image of him etched in your mind, and in that state you remained until they thought they were done.

“_________! How long have you been there?” Levi exclaimed when he exited from the bedroom you both shared. The naked women looked between you two in confusion. Levi whispered something in her ear and quickly she went back into the bedroom, dressed and left.

He came to sit beside you, but as soon as you felt the depression in the couch next to you, you got up and walked into the bedroom and started packing.

“W-wait.” He grabbed your arm, but you just shrugged him off, his desparate cries reached deaf ears as you continued to move from place to place, taking whatever was yours and not paying him any attention.

“Please!” Levi begged while his voice cracking as he tried to contain you in his embrace, which you struggled in. When he tried to move in to kiss you, you snarled and spat at him.

“You filthy pig.” You growled, leaving a shocked Levi rooted to the ground. He’s never seen you this angry before.

You were livid to the bone.

When you left the door that was the last time he saw you.

But a few months have passed and every single day he would come home, the empty sensation drew him crazy. He loved you, but he was stupid.

The warm home cooked meals he used to come to too were filled with an empty kitchen, started to fall apart after months of disuse. The bed he used to share with you was cold on the other side. He missed you, he missed you so much. But he didn’t know where you’ve gone and didn’t know how he could reach you either. You number was replaced with another voice at the end of the line. And all known possible contact with you was gone.

Until that day,

In frenzy, he was called to the hospital, and he saw you wheeled in through the door. You were drenched in blood. He was told you were driving under the influence, and consequently got into an accident that cost you your life.

Here he stood once more, in front of you. He never stopped missing you and never stopped loving you. For the first month after you passed away, he couldn’t sleep and couldn’t eat. The last memory that you had of you both was of him having sex with another women in your apartment. He never even properly apologized.

Your heartbroken eyes met his and he saw the sadness held within them and in a flash, your form dissipated into the air. Levi bitterly smiled as tears streamed down his face,

“I miss you, ________.”
Sorry for my short hiatus. I had a bit of a writers block.
